Fox Chapel, Pa. - May 2 - Fox
Chapel won the defensive battle against Morgantown last night thanks to a big
offensive first quarter. Freshman Tom Stewart started the scoring early in the
first quarter, from then on the Foxes turned to their veteran leaders on attack,
Senior Dan Uminski and Senior Tyler Keenan had one goal and two assists each.
Freshman attackmen Charlie Otte and Sophomore midfielder Brendan Eisenbrandt
provided one goal each on extra man offense which kept the momentum with Fox
Chapel. On defense the Foxes proved that they were up to the challenge by
setting the tone and tempo of the game early. Thanks to a five man force
consisting of Senior Denny Cestra, Juniors Steve Sliger, Justin Grumski, Colin
Frye, and Sophomore Conor Ryan all played a key factor in shutting down
Morgantown offensive weapons. Junior goaltender Nick Engelhardt provided 18
saves to secure the win the for the Foxes. Fox Chapel improves to 5-0 in section
and 6-5 overall. Morgantown drops to 2-4 and 4-8 overall.
